Precisely dating a martin guitar fort worth accommodating lens

Much to my surprise, the guitar looked exactly like a vintage Martin D-28 except on the headstock in Gold Silkscreen lettering was the words "Darco Guitars" It looked like the guitar had not been played in years. I gave the guitar a quick tuning and strummed the old strings.

I have to tell you that this guitar really speaks even with old junky strings. I asked the seller about the guitars history and he said that he really did not know a lot about the guitar.

Thus, for researchers, the precise dating of this photo is very vague.

Greetings all, This is a great site and there are a lot of knowledgeable people here and I am looking for some help. Yes I know, I thought the same thing when I first saw the ad on craigslist.

I thought it was a typo or the seller was confused about the type of guitar strings he had on his acoustic guitar.

I can't see John going from Dec 1958 to August 1959 without some sort of guitar.

I have found no specific dates but I would suspect he had the guitar well into 1959.
